2024 Paragliding Accuracy National Championships
The 19th Paragliding Accuracy National Championships will be held in North Wales on 13-14th July by kind permission of the North Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club. This will be a two day weekend competition, and the flying sites will be available prior to the weekend under the North Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club rules.
The main event is open to pilots who have a minimum Club Pilot rating. There will be awards for best female pilot, best newcomer, best youth, best veteran, and most improved pilot subject to there being a minimum of three pilots contesting each category. There will also be a novice competition open to UK pilots without a rating, or UK pilots who have held a Club Pilot rating for no more than 24 months, are entering the novice competition for the first time since achieving Club Pilot status and have not previously won the novice competition. Note that the venue could change at short notice to South Cerney airfield due to the weather.
Headquarters and camping will be at the Royal Hill Caravan Park, Edgerley. Camping is at the following rates:
Tent or campervan – £10 per person per night (field next to river).
Tent or campervan with electric hook-up – £25 for two people per night, £10 per night for an additional person (on main site).
All pitches need to be booked in advance by phoning 07968 656724 and stating you are part of the paragliding competition group. There are limited electric hook-up spaces, so it is essential to book early and make a payment – unfortunately these spaces are not refundable.
Entries received by 28th June 2024 will be £70, and £90 after this date. Students under the age of 23 have half price entry, and novices will have a £10 discount. Entries will be accepted up to 8.00hrs on Saturday 13th July 2024. Registration will be on Friday 12th July evening (19.00 – 22.00) and Saturday 13th July (07.00 – 08.00), with the Saturday briefing taking place at 09.30.
